Abstract. The work is devoted to the creation of clothing for patients with upper limb injuries during rehabilitation using the Ilizarov method. The subject of the study is upper men's shoulder clothing of the second and third layers for patients with injuries of the upper extremities during rehabilitation using the Ilizarov method. The purpose of the work is to develop a preliminary design of upper shoulder clothing for patients
with upper limb injuries during rehabilitation using the Ilizarov method. The methodology of this study is based on a systematic approach that considers the design process of this type of clothing in the form of a single system of interconnected stages, as well as theoretical and empirical methods: object-oriented analysis; synthesis; comparison method; combinatorial methods (method of combinatorics, transformation and deconstruction). The results of marketing research made it possible to formulate a list of requirements for a given range of clothing. In this work, for the first time, a list of requirements for materials and transformable shoulder clothing using the Ilizarov method has been developed. This advancement constitutes a scientific novelty of the study, allowing us to consider the design process as targeted. The practical significance of the work lies in the development of a preliminary design for the design and manufacture of transformable shouder clothing for patients during rehabilitation using the Ilizarov method. The design ensures the comfort of the “putting on and taking off” process, provides an easy access to the device during examination and medical manipulations. In addition, it has an aesthetic appearance and an extended interval indifference. Creating clothing for patients with injuries of the upper extremities during rehabilitation using the Ilizarov method causes satisfaction to patients with clothing adapted for the external fixation device, which allows patients to socialize in society for a period of long-term rehabilitation and improves their quality of life.
